Do you know how to maintain a metal band saw?

To maintain the saw in good condition, perform regular maintenance on your metal band saw. After each day's work, remove any scrap metal from the machine. Stop the saw blade, turn on the cooling water, and clean the workbench with a water spray gun. After cleaning, lower the saw to a lower position.

1. Before operating the metal band saw, perform the following checks:
Check the hydraulic oil gauge. Is the hydraulic oil level above the red line (L)? When the hydraulic oil level falls below the red line (L), add an appropriate amount of No. 32 anti-wear hydraulic oil until it is above the red line.

Check the coolant gauge to see if it is above the red line. If the coolant level falls below the red line (L), add an appropriate amount of coolant.

Check that the saw blade is positioned between the left and right saw pulleys and the front and rear tungsten steel guide blades.

Check that the wire brush is positioned at the base of the saw teeth.

Add mechanical oil to the movable clamp guide rails of the table.

Add mechanical oil to the floating clamp guide rails of the feed table.

2. Monthly Maintenance

Lubricate the tension slide grease nozzle with a grease gun

Lubricate the driven pulley grease nozzle with a grease gun

Lubricate the driving pulley grease nozzle with a grease gun

Lubricate the brush drive seat grease nozzle with a grease gun

Lubricate the two gearbox grease nozzles with a grease gun.

3. Six-Month Maintenance

After the first six months of use, to keep a new metal band saw in good operating condition, replace:

Gearbox oil

Hydraulic oil in the hydraulic oil tank

4. Annual Maintenance
To keep your metal band saw in good working condition after one year of use, please replace:
Gear oil in the gearbox
Hydraulic oil in the hydraulic tank
